When Loveliness Appears is a large outdoor light installation made up of many glowing ladybirds scattered across the landscape. Each one is oversized and softly lit, glowing in a range of colours as visitors move among them.

Ladybirds are often seen as symbols of good luck, but they are also an important part of the natural environment. There are thousands of different species around the world, not just red with black spots, but yellow, orange, white, pink and even blue.
